Last year’s boys’ varsity race produced some fireworks, as Poly’s Cameron Rhone was able to barely defeat Millikan’s Jason Parra at the finish line, winning by just one tenth of a second. With Rhone now graduated, Parra is the clear favorite in this race, which he won as a sophomore. Parra’s time last season was 14:17.34 and he’ll surely be looking to best that mark this time around.
Meanwhile, the defending champion for girls’ varsity is sophomore Avery Peck from Poly. Her time of 17:50.18 beat the field by more than a minute in 2022, making her the favorite in her second go-round.
The562 will be at ElDo to bring you full coverage of the meet! Be sure to follow along with live updates from the course as well as a complete recap with video and photos.
