Millikan is riding high and headed towards another good challenge on the road tonight at St. Francis. Kickoff is scheduled for 7.
The Rams (1-1) picked up a quality win over Cathedral in their home opener last week. Millikan was sharp offensively but suffered self-inflicted wounds with 17 penalties.
“We have a lot of stuff to work on,” coach Romeo Pellum said. “We have to eliminate the penalties, that’s a huge thing for us. Against better teams and in close games we won’t win if we have penalties like that.”
St. Francis (2-0) has already dominated West Ranch 58-13, and taken down Mira Costa 34-21. Junior quarterback John Sanders already has nine passing touchdowns. The Golden Knights are coming off of consecutive CIF championship game appearances.
Last year in this game, Millikan celebrated the return of junior Ryan Pellum by feeding the Moore League Player of the Year early and often while the Rams ran away with a 54-28 victory. Pellum had four catches for 88 yards and one touchdown to go with three carries and 17 yards with one score.
