The Saints got off to a great start to the 2023 season last Friday, opening up their brand new athletic complex with a dominant 55-0 win over Jefferson High. Now, St. Anthony will need to take the show on the road as they visit West Torrance at 7 p.m.
Coach Raul Lara knows his team is in for a tougher test against the Warriors, but they’ll be playing their first game of the season on Friday night. West went 5-6 a season ago and had a very senior-heavy group, meaning they’ll need to incorporate a lot of new talent in this game.
The St. Anthony defense was stifling against Jefferson, but how well will that defense travel against a deeper opponent? The schedule should continue to get tougher each week for the Saints, so this game will provide a good litmus test for Coach Lara and his staff.
