HIGH SCHOOL

Kyley Seeds, Lakewood Water Polo

Lakewood reshman Kyley Seeds had a breakout performance for the Lancers in a playoff win over Warren. Seeds put up six goals and three steals to lead Lakewood to the semifinals.

Anna Mor, Long Beach Poly Water Polo

Anna Mor helped lead Poly to the semifinals for just the second time in program history. She had a team-high two goals in Poly’s playoff opener and then five goals in the quarterfinal win.

Avery Jensen, Millikan Water Polo

Millikan’s Avery Jensen was the leader for the Rams in a win over Riverside Poly, which put them into this week’s semifinals. Jensen had four goals in the win in the quarterfinals.

Laci Berecochea, Lakewood Basketball

Lakewood’s Laci Berecochea picked a good time to have a career night, as she put up 34 points to lead the Lancers to a playoff win last week.

Anner Aguilar, Long Beach Poly Soccer

Long Beach Poly senior Anner Aguilar was a city hero last week when he made the game-winning penalty kick in the seventh round of the PKs tiebreaker. Aguilar calmly buried the attempt, which he said he’s been practicing before and after every practice this year.

Sean Oliver, Wilson Basketball

Wilson’s Sean Oliver rocked a onesie with a cape to his second-round game because he felt like a superhero. He played like one with six 3-pointers to score 29 points to lead the Bruins to a win.

Asia Edwards, Jordan Basketball

Jordan’s Asia Edwards was the Panthers’ star last week in a pair of playoff games, leading them in both. In the second round, Edwards had 23 points, five steals, five assists, and five rebounds.

COLLEGE

Kianna Hamilton-Fisher, Long Beach State Basketball

Kianna Hamilton-Fisher averaged 16.0 points per game on 52.2 percent (12-23) shooting to help the Beach extend their winning streak to 10, in first place in the Big West.
