Jordan High alum and NFL wide receiver John Ross held a youth football camp for young Long Beach football players last weekend at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
“This might be my favorite camp ever because my son was out here today,” Ross said. “Just to keep being able to do this is the biggest thing for me. It’s giving back. Why make it this far if you’re not gonna come back and pass it down.”
Campers were run through drills by Ross and other volunteer coaches including other NFL players, like NFL defensive back Keisean Nixon, and local high school coaches.
“At this age it’s about getting the kids out here to have fun and get acclimated to the game,” Ross said.
