St. Anthony product Tiare Jennings was named the NCAA’s Freshman of the Year, in a huge honor for the former Saint. Jennings, who was the Gatorade State Player of the Year last year, is having a sensational debut NCAA softball campaign.
Jennings has hit 25 homers and 84 RBIs as a freshman; that’s the second most HRs of anyone in the nation and the highest RBI mark in the NCAA. Jennings has homered in 21 of Oklahoma’s 52 games
Jennings and the rest of the Sooners will begin play in the NCAA Women’s College World Series on Thursday, as the top-ranked Oklahoma squad tries to win the national title.
