HIGH SCHOOL
Nico Colchico, Wilson Cross Country
Wilson’s Nico Colchico is a three-sport athlete for the Bruins, excelling in cross country, track, and basketball. He’s finally gotten a chance to compete for Wilson again with sports returning and he made the most of it, winning last week’s dual meet with Poly in 15:44.
Camille Lindsay, Poly Cross Country
Poly’s Camille Lindsay is the reigning Moore League champion and finally got her first real competition against another team last week in a dual meet with Wilson. Lindsay led wire to wire, as the sophomore finished the three-mile course in 18:16, almost a minute and a half faster than the second-place finisher.
COLLEGE
Chance Hunter, Long Beach State Basketball
Hunter cored 23 points with nine rebounds and four steals in the first of two games at Hawai’i. Hunter averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over two games, making six 3-pointers.
Skyler Germann, Long Beach State Volleyball
Germann made a perfect debut for the Beach in the first weekend of beach volleyball play last weekend. The freshman teamed with partner Alice Pratesi to sweep the fourth flight in two matches against Stanford, as the only Beach tandem to go 2-0 in the doubleheader.
