High School Football Preview: Jordan vs. Cabrillo

The 710 Rivalry will be renewed tonight as Cabrillo travels up the Long Beach Freeway to face Jordan. Both teams are hungry for a Moore League win after lopsided losses last week.

“We’ve got a lot of injuries but we’re ready to play,” Jordan coach Tim Wedlow said.

Jordan (4-3, 1-3) is playing its final home game of the season after hosting Compton, Wilson and Cabrillo in consecutive weeks. The Panthers came back to beat Compton, but took their lumps against the Bruins. However, quarterback Isaac Ochoa had one of his best performances of the season while going over 1,000 yards passing. The senior finished with 286 yards and a touchdown against Wilson.

Cabrillo (1-6, 0-3) also has very thin ranks after losing to Long Beach Poly last week. The Jaguars have struggled to move the ball this season, and have only scored 67 points in seven games.

Jordan and Cabrillo have split their last four meetings after the Jaguars edged the Panthers 21-19 last season.
