After helping the Wilson Bruins reach their first CIF Championship game in school history, receiver Max Barbee is taking his talents to West Lafayette where he will continue his athletic and academic careers at Purdue University.
Barbee only had 16 receptions in each of his sophomore and juniors seasons at Wilson, then had a breakout senior year in which he caught 68 passes for 1,220 yards and 12 touchdowns. The 6’2” 185-pound playmaker flourished under the tutelage of coach DeSean Jackson.
“I’ve always felt like I had the ability and the talent, but circumstances kind of prevented a night like this from happening, It’s really good for my confidence just actually seeing it happen,” Barbee said earlier this year. “ I’ve always believed it could happen but it actually happening is nice. Now we just build on it.”
