Wilson Alum Joel Bitonio Named to Seventh Consecutive Pro Bowl

Wilson alum Joel Bitonio continues to make history, as he was just named to his seventh consecutive NFL Pro Bowl. Long Beach has produced more than 100 NFL players, but none have more Pro Bowl appearances than Bitonio.

The interior offensive lineman was a star at Wilson in football as well as basketball, and went on to a standout career at the University of Nevada before being drafted by the Browns. Poly alum Jurrell Casey has the second-most Pro Bowl appearances of a Long Beach alum with five; Millikan receiver Gary Garrison is alone in third with four Pro Bowl appearances.

Bitonio didn’t just make history in his city, he made history with the Browns as well. The seventh consecutive honor makes him just the fourth Brown to reach seven Pro Bowls, and just third to make seven in a row. Joe Thomas (10), Jim Brown (9), and Lou Groza (9) are the only Browns ahead of him, all of whom will be or are Pro Football Hall of Famers.

This year Bitonio started all 17 games at left guard, bringing his career total to 161 games, 13th most in Browns history.

The 2025 Pro Bowl Games on Sunday, Feb. 2 will feature the AFC versus the NFC. Sunday’s events will be televised from 3-6 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC.
