Millikan Baseball Alumni Game Honors Ram Great John Correa

The reigning Moore League champion Millikan baseball program hosted a well-attended Opening Day and Alumni Game last weekend on campus. The event also honored Rams baseball legend John Correa, who passed away in July of 2024.

Correa was a three-year starter at third base for the Rams and drove in the walkoff extra innings game-winning run in the 1983 CIF-SS Division 1 championship at Angel Stadium, before going on to play at Cal.

John’s sisters, Elaine and Julie, threw out the opening pitch for the game. They also presented a $45,000 check to the program to establish the John Correa Memorial Fund as part of the Rams booster club. Their father, Al Correa, was not only John’s coach throughout his youth years but also the president of the booster club in the early 1980s.

Correa’s high school coach, Dan Peters, spoke about his big personality and lifelong love of his teammates and friends. The event was packed with the bleachers full and good food on the grill all day as well.
