No one would have blamed the Millikan football program if they weren’t completely focused on their game this week with Long Beach Poly looming next week, but the Rams didn’t let the anticipation take them away from the opponent in front of them on Friday night. The Rams stayed focused while hosting Jordan, and they dominated every facet of the game to a 51-6 win at DeHaven Stadium.

“We feel like if we execute, we can do what we need to do at any time against anybody,” Millikan coach Romeo Pellum said. “It’s about us. It’s about us doing things the right way and when we do it the right way, we do a really good job, and when we don’t – we don’t.”

The Rams (5-2, 3-0) elected to get the ball to open the game and proceeded to march down the field as JP Mialovski connected on his first three throws for 18 yards to Anthony League and Xavier Jones who did the rest. The duo combined for 38 yards on the opening drive and League finished it off which a 3-yard touchdown to give the Rams a 8-0 lead.

Jordan (1-6,0-2) answered right back after Kalib Tautolo connected with John Lim for a 42-yard score that cut Millikan’s lead to 8-6 with 5:11 left in the first quarter.

Mialovski went right back to work connecting with Jay Williams and Kato Keohaname to put the Rams into Jordan territory. League did the rest as he scored his second touchdown on a 26-yard stroll to put Millikan up 16-6 with 4:07 left in the first.

After the Millikan defense came up with a stop, Mialovski connected with Jones on the first play for a 53-yard touchdown that pushed the Rams’ lead to 24-6.

The Rams started to pour it on after pooch kick was recovered on the ensuing kick off and ended with Mialovski connecting with Jude Nelson in the corner of the endzone for a 4-yard touchdown to make it 32-6.

“We put a lot of points in the first quarter,” Mialovski said. “You know, I our team came out to play today and you know got a couple of touchdowns.”

After another forced punt, Jones got back in the action and scored his second touchdown of the night on a 12-yard rush to put Millikan up 40-6 with 6:43 left in the first half.

In the second half, there was a running clock for the remainder of the game as Millikan put in their back ups for the rest of the game.

Elijah Quinonez found Ethan Raphiel for a 3-yard touchdown to push the lead to 48-6.

Millikan will now prepare for their highly anticipated match up against Poly next week while Jordan will be on the road to take on Lakewood.
