For the Fridge: Los Altos 9s Win Cal Ripken SoCal State Tournament

The Los Altos 9s All Stars from El Dorado Park won the Cal Ripken SoCal State Tournament earlier this month, punching their ticket to the Cal Ripken Regional Tournament in Galt, CA.

Los Altos won a best-of-three state tourney with a pair of wins over fellow Long Beach squad Uptown. The Los Altos 9s won the first game 10-0 behind three hits from Tyler Manullang  and Caleb Lourenco as well as a complete game shutout pitching performance by Gunnar Newman.

In the second game, Los Altos won 10-5 as Cash Belt had a pair of hits and two RBIs. Manullang and Luis Perez were the pitchers, with Perez striking out three and giving up just one run in the final four innings of the game.

The team is AJ Mitchell, Bryce Amaro, Cru Girard, Tyler Manullang, Cliff Fulton, Gunnar Newman, Luis Perez, Luca Pichardo, Gunnar Garrison, Caleb Lourenco, Cash Belt, Aidan Bruce, and Luca Roppo. The team’s head coach is Nate Belt with assistants Steve Brett, Andy Amaro, and Matt Roppo.
