Longtime Lakewood High teacher and athletic trainer Kam Weller recently received a major award, as the CIF Southern Section named her their CIF-SS Athletic Trainer of the Year.
Weller was honored at a game at Angel Stadium alongside male Athletic Trainer of the Year Kristen Ross of El Rancho High.
Weller, an institution in athletic training in the local area, has been a longtime advantage for the Lancers. The LBUSD now requires a full-time trainer at each high school, but for many years Weller’s on-campus status with the Lancers gave them a unique boost.
