Moore League Boys’ Soccer: Jordan Comeback Earns Draw With Millikan

The Moore League boys’ soccer standings look a little different than in years past after a surprising result at Jordan on Wednesday afternoon.

Millikan 2, Jordan 2
Jordan (2-2-1, 0-0-1) scored twice in a 10-minute span of the second half to comeback and share the points with the visiting Rams.

Millikan (5-2-1, 0-1-1) took the lead on two first-half goals from Cameron Badal, and Octavio Salazar cut the lead in half about 10 minutes into the second half. After Jordan earned a penalty kick minutes later, Christopher Sanchez netted the equalizer. The Rams didn’t play regular starting goalkeeper Max Hintz.

This is only the second point Jordan has taken in the last six games against Millikan.

Wilson 3, Compton 1
Goals from Carlos Mota, Andres Mota and Sebastian Castorena gave Wilson (5-2-1, 2-0-0) the win at Compton (2-2-1, 0-1-0).

Long Beach Poly 2, Lakewood 0
Poly (5-1-2, 1-0-0) rolled to a league opening win at Lakewood (3-3-1, 0-1-0). Jossmar Briseno gave the Jackrabbits the lead in the 39th minute, and Ethan Schack capped the scoring in the 55th minute. Poly goalkeeper Matthew McCoy collected the shutout victory.
