Millikan has hired Long Beach native and recent Firebaugh boys’ basketball coach Stephon Price as the new coach of the Rams’ boys’ basketball team. Price is being introduced to the team this afternoon with an official announcement expected shortly. Millikan athletic director Kacey Mendoza confirmed the hire.
“We’re extremely excited about Coach Stephon Price joining our Millikan family and look forward to his immediate impact on our program,” said Mendoza.
Price is a Long Beach native who played basketball at Jordan High for legendary coach Ron Massey. Price is a well-known club basketball coach in the area with his club Squad Basketball, which several other local coaches are a part of. He’s also a proven high school coach most recently at Firebaugh, where he led the school to its first-ever league title, CIF-SS title, and the most wins in a single season in school history in 2023-24.
We’ll have more from coach Price soon. He replaces Curtis Boyer, who had a successful run at Millikan that included their first-ever and deepest-ever state playoff run. The Rams return most of their roster from this season for the upcoming year.
