Wilson boys’ golf got some revenge and grabbed a share of the Moore League boys’ golf championship by beating Millikan 383-396 in an 18-hole match on Thursday at Recreation Park Golf Course.
The Rams handed the Bruins their first league loss in 19 seasons early this month with a 197-205 victory amidst strong winds at El Dorado Golf Course. But Wilson returned to its home course on Thursday and restored order.
Sophomore Bodie Barnes took the medalist honors for the Bruins with a 2-under par round that included a 40-foot eagle putt on the front nine.
In terms of the CIF Playoffs, Wilson will be the No. 1 qualifier out of the Moore League. The tiebreaker is the best nine-hole score of both matches. Wilson was two strokes better on Thursday, which in essence is Barnes’ eagle putt being the difference.
The Moore League individual tournament starts on Monday with 18 holes at El Dorado.
