The Long Beach Poly girls’ soccer team had a heck of a run in 2024-25, winning their first Moore League title in nearly a decade and reaching the CIF Southern Section championship for the first time since 1995. The Jackrabbits’ run came to an end Tuesday evening in the CIF State playoffs, as they fell 3-0 to Patrick Henry on the road in San Diego.
Poly (18-5-1) was the seven-seed in the CIF State Division 3 playoffs, and were the underdogs against No. 2 Patrick Henry.
Poly graduates a significant portion of its roster, and first-year coach Angel Zavala will have to develop a young roster next season for Poly to contend again in the Moore League.
