Joy Anderson, Long Beach Poly Basketball
Long Beach Poly senior Joy Anderson led the Jackrabbits to their 199th consecutive Moore League win last week with 23 points in a victory over Millikan, backed up by teammate Nevaeh Lemons’ 17 points.
Anthony Williams/Keaton Lewis, Lakewood Basketball
Lakewood recently took runner-up in the Gold Division of the Bellflower Holiday Tournament. Anthony Williams and Keaton Lewis starred for the Lancers and both took All-Tournament honors.
COLLEGE
Kam Martin, Long Beach State Basketball
Freshman Kam Martin set a new career-high with 25 points, leading Long Beach State to a 76-70 win on the road at San Diego. Martin was a perfect 5-for-5 from three in the victory and earned Big West Player of the Week honors for his efforts.
Brillana Boyd, LBCC Basketball
The LBCC women’s basketball team finished as the runner-up in the LA Valley College Tournament last week, thanks to the offensive efforts of Brillana Boyd. She averaged 23 points per game as the Vikings went 2-1.
