Basketball: Franklin Shuts Down Marshall To Win All-City Division 2 Championship

Saturday’s Middle School All-City championship boys’ basketball games at Millikan got off to an exciting start with the Division 2 game, which featured Franklin and Marshall. The Rams hustled, but Franklin was consistent enough to take the win 68-41.

Franklin eighth grader J’Dyn Odom-Moore put up the first successful shots in the game, and Brian McKay helped boost the Wildcats as well. Noah Nate made some baskets for Marshall but Franklin led 13-6 after one.

With Odom-Moore’s back-to-back layups as well as Jay’on Conant helped Franklin take a 33-14 lead at halftime.

Marshall made a strong push in the fourth quarter with Andrew Carter hitting free throws, but Franklin was able to hold them off for the All-City championship.
