It’s been clear for a while that Jarret “JJ” Nielsen would continue his career at the University of Hawai’i and the former Jordan Panthers quarterback and shortstop is headed there early.
Nielsen is leaving Jordan early and used the early signing period to follow in his family’s footsteps. His sister Jadyn played softball at Hawai’i and his cousins Corey and Casey played football for the Rainbow Warriors.
Nielsen was an All-League quarterback and shortstop in 2023-24 as a junior at Jordan. He didn’t play this season, but wants to play both at Hawai’i. The 5’11” 210-pound Nielsen threw for 5,000 yards and 45 touchdowns in two years as a starter at Jordan.
There was also some star power for Nielsen’s signing ceremony on Wednesday as former ESPN Neil Everett was on hand (pictured above).
