First year coach Juan Luna and the Jordan boys’ soccer team is keeping its standard high for the 2024-2025 season.
“Our goal for the team is to make it to the playoffs,” he said. “The key to achieving one of our goals is to give 100 percent every position so we can win more games.”
At goalkeeper will be Roberto Bruno who will seek help from defenders Alex Soto and Salvador Borrego. Yojhan Flores, Justin Garcia, and Jesus Jerónimo all defenders along with Carlos Burgos who Luna hopes to be playing during playoffs.
“Our key players are going to be our seniors and returning players,” said Luna.
At midfield will be Adiel Palma and Zair Russell with Jonathan Cerritos at forward. Luna says that he expects a big year from Cerritos for Jordan’s attack.
The Panthers fell in a 2-0 loss to St. Pius X-St. Matthius in their season opener. Jordan will have two marquee matchups against Compton in Moore League play on Jan. 17 and Feb. 5.
