Loren Fearance, Long Beach Poly Golf
Long Beach Poly freshman Loren Fearance won the Moore League championship last week, finishing up a -3 performance over 36 holes played around the city. She’s the first Jackrabbit to win the title since 2012 and just the second freshman in Moore League girls’ golf history.
Aaya McLyn, Long Beach Poly Flag Football
Long Beach Poly senior Aaya McLyn continues to make her impact felt on the football field. McLyn scored twice in Poly’s playoff-opening win last week, and then had the game-sealing interception to give the Jackrabbits a 12-7 win over Redondo Union.
Vaughn Baker, Wilson Water Polo
Wilson boys’ water polo once again brought home the Moore League title with an impressive win over Poly. Vaughn Baker scored three of his team-high four goals in a decisive third quarter against the Jackrabbits.
Kristen Dear, Long Beach Poly Volleyball
Long Beach Poly middle blocker Kristen Dear had 12 kills on .800 hitting to lead the Jackrabbits to a sweep win in their playoff opener, and tied for a team high with eight kills in Poly’s second-round win over Torrance.
Maddison Stranz, St. Anthony Volleyball
Setter Maddison Stranz had a big night for St. Anthony in their playoff-opening win, putting up 25 assists to help lead the Saints to a victory.
Duce Weston, Wilson Football
Wilson senior Duce Weston had three touchdowns and an interception in the Bruins’ win over Jordan, which sets up this week’s showdown with Lakewood with a playoff berth at stake.
Jasiah Lolesio-Pua, St. Anthony Football
Jasiah Lolesio-Pua led St. Anthony to a huge win that keeps them in the playoff hunt, dominating Harvard-Westlake with 11 rushes for 113 rushing yards, three catches for 35 receiving yards, and four total touchdowns.

Jett Peddy, LBCC Football
Vikings quarterback Jett Peddy went an efficient 23/32 for 301 yards passing and four touchdowns to lead LBCC to a fifth-straight win including a perfect 4-0 record in conference play.
