After a few seasons of close matches, Millikan girls’ golf finally broke through and beat Wilson 228-233 at El Dorado Park Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Bruins have won 15 consecutive Moore League championships and hadn’t lost a league match in over 12 years.
“I’m just really happy for the whole team, especially my two varsity returners Hailey Stoskopf and Isabel Lopez,” Millikan coach Robert Tomlin said. “We have a young team with no seniors so I’m really excited for the future of the team.”
Lopez (41) was the low round for the Rams while sophomore Janelle Pulido (43) finished right behind the junior team captain.
Wilson’s Charlotte White earned the medalist honors with a round of 3-over par round of 39, and Bruins senior Ellen Baldwin had the highlight of the day with a hole-in-one on the third hole.
Millikan and Wilson play again on Oct. 10 at Recreation Park Golf Course.
