The first road trip of the season ended in a win for Wilson as the Bruins scored most of their points during a 34-7 win at Sunny Hills.

Wilson quarterback Mack Cooper threw three touchdowns and two of them were to Max Barbee. Those two now have four touchdowns in three weeks.

The Bruins took a 13-0 lead in the 3rd quarter on touchdowns from Cooper/Barbee and then Jamell Edmond.

Sunny Hills cut the lead to 13-7 while Wilson continued to waste trips into the red zone. Three consecutive trips deep into Lancers territory ended in a turnover on downs, a fumble and another turnover on downs.

Wilson broke through at the beginning of the fourth quarter when Jaden Frauchiger took a swing pass on 4th down to make it 20-7.

Cooper and Barbee hooked up again for a long touchdown and a 27-7 lead before Wilson defensive back Kam Lynn capped the scoring with a late pick-6.

Wilson (2-1) visits California High School in Whittier on Thursday.
