The Compton Tarbabes (2-0) are looking to keep their stride on Friday night, as they head east on Alondra Boulevard to face the Paramount Pirates (2-0).
The Tarbabes are coming off a commanding 48-12 victory in the Hub City Rivalry against Compton Centennial last week. Despite the wide margin, Compton head coach Calvin Bryant says the team needs to “… continue working on our defense and continue to grow.”
This is a revenge game for the Tarbabes, as the Pirates have capsized Compton the last two years. In 2022, Tarbabe turnovers gave Paramount a scrapy 20-18 win; while in 2023, Paramount defeated Compton in a lopsided 45-20 win. Paramount won its last week match up against Fairfax, 33-6.
With both offenses posting over 320 yards a game, defense will be crucial for the Tarbabes, like head coach Bryant said, in order to stay undefeated in preseason.
Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Paramount High School.
