The Cabrillo Jaguars (0-1) are looking to start the Labor Day weekend off right by hunting for their first win of the season. In a quick turn-around, the Jaguars are hosting the Los Angeles Jordan Bulldogs (0-1) on Thursday night.
The Jaguars season opener was spoiled in the last seconds to Artesia Pioneers, as they lost 29-26. As for LA Jordan, they lost their opening week to King/Drew, 35-6.
“There is nothing we can do about [the loss]. We had every opportunity to win that game. Artesia is done, it is all about LA Jordan,” explained head coach Shane Gonzales last week in the post game huddle.
With both teams fielding smaller rosters, it will be a test of conditioning, mental discipline, and “shoring up our back-ups to make sure everyone is ready to go,” Gonzales mentioned.
Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Cabrillo High School on Thursday, Aug. 29.
