The Wilson offense just couldn’t get going in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 4 softball playoffs on Thursday at Sultana High in Hesperia.
Sultana scored all of its runs in the final three innings to beat Wilson 7-2.
Charlotte White and Ashley Kinsley scored late for the Bruins on Tallulah Watts’ RBI single. Bruins starting pitcher Emily Castano gave up three runs, six hits and struck out four in five innings. Those three runs came on a home run over the 170-foot fence in left field.
Wilson (15-11) finished fourth in the Moore League. Sultana (21-8) was the Mojave River champion.
