HIGH SCHOOL

Wyatt Mitchell, Wilson Swim

Wilson’s senior Wyatt Mitchell helped lead the Bruins to a win over Poly in a dual meet showdown last week, anchoring a gold medal win in the 200 free relay with a 21.60 split. That relay clinched the win for the Bruins.

Sofia Brys, Long Beach Poly Swim

Poly’s Sofia Brys took golds in two individual events and two relays to help the Poly girls top the Bruins in a thrilling dual meet matchup. Brys won the 200 IM and 100 fly for the Jackrabbits.

Olivia Smith/Sophia Orbiso, Millikan Volleyball

Millikan’s top duo of Olivia Smith and Sophia Orbiso defeated Wilson’s Kate Eckenrode and Simrin Adams for the Moore League beach volleyball pairs championship, coming back from down 1-0 to win it 13-21, 21-18, 15-7.

Ben Keisler, Millikan Baseball

Millikan’s Ben Keisler got on base three times and scored twice in a huge win over Wilson, which keeps the Rams on top of the Moore League with an undefeated league record.

Adrian Bernal, Long Beach Poly Baseball

Adrian Bernal had a big game for Long Beach Poly in their comeback win over Lakewood last week, scoring a pair of runs, plus a two-RBI double and a great outfield assist from right field.

Ian Nolte, Wilson Volleyball

Ian Nolte finished with a game-high 16 kills in the Bruins’ win over Millikan last week, which clinched a third consecutive Moore League title for Wilson.

Brianna Bailey, Long Beach Poly Softball

Dartmouth commit Brianna Bailey had a moment to remember in Poly’s big comeback win over Wilson last week. Her deep triple was the game-winning RBI in a 9-5 win over the Bruins.

Megan Ligenza, Wilson Lacrosse

Sophomore Megan Ligenza played just about the whole game for Wilson, racking up five goals in the Bruins victory over Poly.
