HIGH SCHOOL

Joshue Sayre, Long Beach Poly Baseball

Long Beach Poly senior Joshue Sayre pitched a complete game shutout for the Jackrabbits in a 1-0 win over Wilson last week, striking out eight in seven innings.

Ben Keisler, Millikan Baseball

Millikan picked up a big win over Lakewood last week and junior Ben Keisler led an explosive offensive night for the Rams. Keisler had three doubles and three RBIs in the victory.

Kayla Cisneros, Millikan Softball

​​Kayla Cisneros had a huge outfield assist to preserve the shutout in a big win over Wilson last week, which keeps the Rams undefeated and in first place in the Moore League. She also added a hit, run and a stolen base on offense.

Emoni Lam Sam, Long Beach Poly Softball

Sophomore Emoni Lam Sam was key in Poly’s comeback win over Lakewood last week. Not only did she have two hits and a terrific diving catch at third, she also scored the game-winning run with some heads-up baserunning in the 7th.

Jonathan Ocampo, Cabrillo Golf

Jonathan Ocampo set the Cabrillo school record at Recreation Park last week during a Jags loss to Wilson. Ocampo, who will attend Stanford next year, set the school record with a round of 39.

COLLEGE

Myles Patton, Long Beach State Baseball

Myles Patton earned Big West Pitcher of the Week honors for his seven innings of shutout work against Cal State Fullerton last weekend, yielding just five hits while striking out seven. The Dirtbags swept the Titans in the series.
