Millikan boys’ soccer ended its season with a scoreless draw against Cabrillo on Wednesday to wrap up its second consecutive Moore League championship.
The Rams (13-3-6, 8-1-3) only last one of their last 11 games thanks to some fantastic defense. Millikan’s defense and goalkeeper Diego Ramirez have only allowed six goals in those games.
“I’m extremely proud of this group of young men,” Millikan coach Jeff Schofield said. “They’ve battled all season long through numerous injuries.”
Millikan forward Aaron De Leon was one of the most prolific scorers in the area with 19 goals and 13 goals in league.
“They made key plays when they needed to, essentially clinching with two games left is an impressive feat,” Schofield said. “ I’m glad this group of seniors that I started with are finishing as champions and looking forward to the CIF playoffs.”
The CIF Southern Section boys’ soccer brackets will be released on Saturday.
