The Moore League season continues this week as the Jordan Panthers (6-2, 2-2) head south down the 710 to face the Cabrillo Jaguars (2-6, 0-4) in the latest installment of the 710 Rivalry.
For the Panthers, playoff hopes still linger as they’ll need the remaining two weeks of the regular season to play out in their favor in order to earn the third guaranteed playoff spot.
Led by Jordan Washington’s 255 total yards of offense last week, the Jordan offense had no problem finding their groove in their thrilling win at Wilson. Their defense however will look to find their footing this week after giving up 43 points and a fourth quarter scare before their last second 49-43 win.
On the other side of the field, the Jags’ are hunting for their first win of the Moore League season after going on a five game dry spell. Cabrillo is coming off a lopsided loss to Poly, but heads into this game with some encouragement after finding their first points against Poly last week in over a decade.
Defense could tell the tale in this one, as Cabrillo will look to stop Jordan’s high-powered offense while the Panthers will look to handle both sides of the ball as they did last year in their 46-6 win over the Jags.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Cabrillo High School.
