The Compton Tarbabes (3-2, 1-0) are traveling down the 710 to visit the Wilson Bruins (1-3, 0-1) for another week of Moore League competition on Friday night. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Wilson.
Compton is coming off an Moore League-opening win, after beating Cabrillo in a sloppy, grinding 13-6 result. Senior running back John John Bledsoe was crucial in the victory, as he ran for over 100 yards, on 21 carries, and had the game-winning touchdown.
On the other hand, Wilson is looking to rebound, banking on the leadership of senior defensive tackle Curtis Whiten and others, after a tough 79-20 road loss to Millikan.
Last year’s contest was a rollercoaster that ended in a late controversial field goal call, where Compton defeated Wilson 27-25 at Compton College.
There will also be a special event during halftime as Wilson will honor its latest Hall of Fame class.
