The562’s coverage of Millikan athletics in the 2023-24 school year is sponsored by Curtis Boyer.
Revenge will be on the mind tonight when Millikan hosts Cathedral. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last year, the Rams lost a heartbreaker to visiting Cathedral 39-38 in a thrilling game that had 10 lead changes.
“We should not have lost that football game,” Millikan coach Romeo Pellum said.
Millikan played that game without 2021 Moore League Player of the Year Ryan Pellum. The USC signee had seven catches for 60 yards in the season opening loss at Punahou, and will be a huge factor against Cathedral.
The Panthoms reached the CIF Southern Section Division 4 semifinals last year, and won their season opener against Garfield 43-40 last week. Junior Ramahj Jones rushed for 172 yards on 17 carries while freshman quarterback Jaden Jefferson went 7-for-11 with three touchdown passes. Two of them were to senior Sean Grier.
Last week, Millikan quarterback JP Mialovski was 17/32 in his debut, amassing 178 yards passing with a TD and an interception. He’s got some great options at wide receiver including Pellum and Loyall Mouzon.
