Lakewood has been itching to get back on the field after a disappointing loss at Orange Vista last week to open the season.
The Lancers will get that opportunity tonight when they visit San Dimas. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last year, Lakewood beat visiting San Dimas 16-7 in a defensive slugfest. The Lancers held the San Dimas double wing offense to 131 total yards.
Last week, the Lancers defense came up with five interceptions in the first 24 minutes of the game at Orange Vista. After falling behind 20-6, Lakewood battled back as Cecil Xavier returned a kick 90 yards for a score and then quarterback Kade Casillas hit Charlie Wright for the game-tying touchdown with eight minutes remaining. It was back and forth after that with Orange Vista ultimately using a run-heavy drive to take a 27-20 lead with two minutes remaining, and stopping the Lakewood offense to seal the win.
San Dimas narrowly beat Fullerton 14-12 in the season opener last week.
