Long Beach’s own Trent Bryson brought home a national championship this weekend from the USA Track and Field Masters National Championships meet happening in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Bryson won the national title in the men’s 3000 meter steeplechase, with a time of 10:52.03. Bryson was representing the Cal Coast Track Club and had the fastest time of the day across all age groups in the event. Competing in the 45-49 age group, Bryson’s time was nearly a minute faster than the winners in the 25-29 age group.
Bryson’s father, Rick, was a Long Beach Poly football Hall of Famer and a Long Beach State baseball Hall of Fame and his children, TJ and Alexa, both recently went from competing in track and cross country at Poly to collegiate scholarships at UCSB. Bryson is currently the CEO at Bryson Financial in Long Beach.
