Brent Lavoie confirmed today that Long Beach Poly will not be having him back as head coach of the baseball team after seven years of running the program.
Lavoie was placed on administrative leave from teaching and coaching for almost four months of this season. He was reinstated in late April for the end of the season that saw the Jackrabbits make history with an undefeated Moore League championship.
“What an honor to coach up these boys to become game changers in the game of life,” Lavoie said via text on Friday. “3 Championships in 6 full seasons! 7 total years at the helm…..what a ride the Lord has provided! Love these ‘rabbits dearly!!”
Lavoie respectfully declined to comment further.
In an email to concerned parents of baseball players already in the program, Long Beach Poly Principal Bill Salas announced today that Gabe Vigil will take over as interim coach to run the summer activities.
