Cabrillo boys’ soccer made history by winning Long Beach’s first CIF State Regional title in 2019, and on Thursday the Jaguars won their first postseason match since that magical campaign.

After 78 scoreless minutes in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs, junior Nathan Mosqueda scored for Cabrillo to take down Claremont 1-0 on the road. It is only the seventh clean sheet of the season for the Jaguars and goalkeeper Ezra Salcido.

Cabrillo (17-3-3) will host Mission Viejo in the second round on Saturday.
