The562’s coverage of Long Beach Wilson Athletics is sponsored by Joel Bitonio, Class of 2009.
It was a tough night for Long Beach boys’ basketball teams. Other than Jordan winning the city’s only home game of the night, most of the Long Beach teams fell–St. Anthony and Long Beach Poly lost in Division 1, and Lakewood fell in a Division 2 game.
Wilson picked up a big win in the Division 4AA bracket, though, defeating Jurupa Hills 63-55.
The Bruins were led by Keon Young’s 19 points, and 14 points apiece from Sean Oliver and Mikey Kirley.
The Bruins will host St. Monica Prep in the second round on Friday night at 7 p.m.
