Just before Winter Break, there’s one more key game to play in Moore League girls’ soccer as Wilson hosts Millikan tonight at 7 p.m.
The Rams are in a great spot after their 2-0 win at Poly last Thursday, and a win at Wilson would make them the clear favorites for another league title.
However, the defending champion Bruins have been laying in wait for their opportunity to take down Millikan. A win for Wilson would create a three-team logjam atop the Moore League standings, leaving the title chase wide open for the second half of the season.
Millikan has a 7-2-2 overall record with a perfect 4-0 mark in league games. A total of 17 different players have scored for the Rams this season, led by four goals apiece for Hannah Marshall and Brooklyn Perez. Wilson, meanwhile, has won five of its last six matches, carrying a 6-4 overall record and 3-1 league mark coming into Thursday’s showdown.
In last season’s meetings between the Bruins and the Rams, Wilson earned a 2-1 victory on their home field before playing to a scoreless draw at Millikan the next week.
