Kaleb Foster, Lakewood Football
Lakewood’s playoff success has come thanks to a powerful ground game this year, and Kaleb Foster has been leading the way. He scored two touchdowns in the Lancers’ quarterfinal win.
Alyson Sor, Wilson Golf
Wilson senior Alyson Sor won her third Moore League title last month, and now she’s going to State. She shot a 1-under par round at Brookside Golf Course to finish fifth in CIF Southern Section competition and advance to the CIF State Tournament this week.
COLLEGE
Malia Bambrick, Long Beach State Basketball
Long Beach State easily won their home opener over La Sierra on Saturday, and Malia Bambrick was a standout. Bambrick had 21 points, four rebounds and three assists in the win.
Rafael Real Vergara, Long Beach State Water Polo
The Beach beat UC Irvine last week to clinch a share of the conference championship. Vergara had a great game as expected, with a hat trick and a trio of assists as well in the 14-6 victory.
