Four Long Beach basketball teams begin the CIF State playoffs this evening with the St. Anthony, Long Beach Poly, and Millikan boys playing opening round games alongside the Long Beach Poly girls. All games are at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
In Division 1, there will be two local boys’ basketball teams playing, both on the road. St. Anthony travels to Torrey Pines while Long Beach Poly travels to St. Bernard. In Division 4, Millikan is the fifth-seeded team and will host a state playoff game against Bravo this evening; it’s the first state playoff game the boys’ basketball team at Millikan has hosted in some time.
On the girls’ side, Long Beach Poly is seeded No. 3 in Division 2 and will host Westview this evening at 6:30 p.m.
