PREVIEW: Three Long Beach Basketball Teams In Semis Tonight

Three Long Beach boys’ basketball teams will be playing in the CIF Southern Section semifinals tonight, with a trip to the championship on the line. All three games start at 7 p.m. and we’ll have live updates and full coverage from all three.

Division 1

St. Anthony is hosting league rival St. Bernard tonight in one of the top games in Southern California. If the Saints win they’d face the winner of St. John Bosco and JSerra’s semifinal. The Saints will travel for the championship game Friday no matter what if they win.

Division 2AA

Long Beach Poly travels to Foothill tonight as they try to earn the chance to play for the program’s 21st CIF-SS title on Friday. If Poly gets a victory today they’d face the winner of Los Altos and Village Christian; Poly would host the championship Friday if it’s Los Altos and travel if it’s Village Christian.

Division 3A

Millikan is hosting Dana Hills tonight as the Rams try to fight their way back to a CIF-SS championship game, a place their boys’ team hasn’t been in some time. With a win, Millikan would face the winner of St. Pius/St. Matthias and Bishop Diego. They would host the game if it’s St. Pius and travel to Santa Barbara if it’s Bishop Diego.
