Millikan Boys’ Wrestling Takes Top Spot At CIF Individual Finals

Millikan boys’ wrestling had another historic weekend at the CIF Southern Section individual championships by winning the overall team title with 292 points. The Rams had a trio of champions and also advanced 10 wrestlers to the Masters meet this weekend.

Jake Pallares (160 pounds), Nathan Gomez (195 pounds) and Seth Elliott (Heavyweight) were the title winners for Millikan, and Elliot received the outstanding upper-weight wrestler award after five first-period pins.

On the girls’ side, Millikan junior Destiny Moreno (101 pounds), Poly senior Eliana Eats (143 pounds) and Lakewood junior Saiheron Preciado-Meza (189 pounds) all won championships individually.

Eats made huge leaps forward during this season that she dedicated to her late mother who passed away over the summer. Eats was fifth in CIF after winning a league title in 2020, and repeated as league champion this year before winning CIF.

Preciado-Meza has 20 pins in her 23 victories this season and hasn’t dropped a match.
