Long Beach State women’s soccer star Kaitlin Fregulia became the first player in program history to be drafted by the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Draft last Saturday. She was selected twelfth overall by the North Carolina Courage.
Fregulia was a two-time Big West Defensive Player of the Year, two-time United Soccer Coaches All-West Region selection and five-time All-Big West honoree. She totaled 70 games played and 64 starts scoring 20 points on seven goals and six assists at the Beach.
The only other player in LBSU women’s soccer history to appear in the NWSL was Shawna Gordon back in 2015-16.
Men’s & Women’s Basketball
COVID-19 protocols relating to the LBSU men’s and women’s basketball programs have already canceled multiple games for both programs. The men’s basketball team didn’t travel to San Diego for its game on Monday, and Tuesday’s women’s basketball home game against USC.
