Elijah Price, St. Anthony Basketball
St. Anthony defeated Long Beach Poly at the Bosco Winter Classic last week and went on to take fifth in the tournament. Senior Elijah Price was a standout and posted 20 points and 17 boards in the win over Poly.
Sierra Sythe, Millikan Soccer
Sierra Sythe has been a breakout star of the young soccer season for Millikan, and put her offensive skills on display last week. In the Rams’ Moore League opener, Sythe scored two goals for Millikan in an 8-0 win over Lakewood.
Camryn Cruz, Wilson Soccer
Wilson and Poly were locked in a scoreless tie for 78 minutes of their Moore League opener last week, until Camryn Cruz tilted things in the Bruins’ favor. Her 78th-minute goal gave Wilson a 1-0 lead and a big early season victory.
COLLEGE
Aboubacar Traore, Long Beach State Basketball
True freshman Aboubacar Traore became just the sixth player in program history, and the first since 1983, to finish a game with 20 rebounds, posting his first double-double with 11 points and 20 boards in a 102-69 win over Bethesda.
