CIF Football Preview: Jordan vs. Rim Of The World

It could be a very special night at Jordan where the Panthers are hosting the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 11 playoffs against Rim of the World.

After earning an at-large berth to get into the playoffs, luck of the draw made Jordan (5-5, 3-3) the No. 4 seed in Division 11, so the Panthers like their chances of winning a postseason game for the first time in decades.

“We feel like we can win some games, we feel like we can make some history,” said Jordan coach Tim Wedlow.

Rim Of The World (8-1, 4-0) is the undefeated champion of the Skyline League and is on a six-game winning streak. The Fighting Scots run the ball almost exclusively on offense. Junior Zach Gross has rushed for over 2,100 yards and 33 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, the Fighting Scots defense is only giving up an average of 14 points per game.

A Jordan win would move the Panthers to the quarterfinals against the winner of Grand Terrace and Granite Hills.
