The Long Beach City College Vikings are back in action tonight at Veterans Memorial Stadium as they host San Diego Mesa. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
LBCC (2-1) bounced back from its disappointing loss to top team Riverside by going on the road and beating Chaffey last week 31-10.
Vikings running back Rodney Clemente Jr. will be looking to continue his strong start to the season after rushing for 151 yards on 12 carries at Chaffey. The freshman from Arizona also came into the week leading the Vikings in receptions.
San Diego Mesa (2-1) is also coming off a win over East Los Angeles after a tough loss at Ventura. The Olympians are a pass-heavy team with freshman quarterback Gunnar Gray averaging almost 200 yards passing per game with seven touchdowns.
LBCC hasn’t played San Diego Mesa in the eight years under coach Brett Peabody.
