Damian Henderson, Jordan Football
Two weeks after his spectacular week one debut, Jordan junior Damian Henderson has another sensational game last week in a win over Fairfax. Henderson had three touchdowns: an 80-yard kickoff return, a 20-yard run, and a 50-yard punt return for a score.
Brady Simon, Wilson Water Polo
The Wilson water polo team is stacked with talent this year, and in the team’s championship win over Corona del Mar in the Long Beach Invitational last weekend, it was goalie Brady Simon who stepped up, with 13 saves in the victory.
Keke Hall, Lakewood Volleyball
Lakewood posted an impressive season-opening sweep of rival Long Beach Poly last week, with the entire team performing well. Middle blocker Keke Hall was the statistical leader with 10 kills and six digs in the win, taking advantage of excellent Lakewood passing and setting in the win.
COLLEGE
Lena Silano, Long Beach State Soccer
Long Beach State’s Lena Silano continued her strong start to the season in the Beach’s 2-1 win over San Diego State on Sunday, scoring both goals for LBSU in the win. Silano’s first goal was on a penalty kick in the first half, then added the eventual game-winner in the 60th on a header.
