Lakewood is going to have its hands full tonight when it hosts North Torrance at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
The Lancers (0-1) are still banged up on defense with a variety of injuries and issues, while the Saxons (2-0) come in having outscored their first two opponents 79-7.
North Torrance quarterback Trevor Lagarde has already thrown for 455 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 64 percent of his passes. The junior hasn’t thrown an interception.
Lakewood had trouble stopping the Peninsula rushing attack last week in its season opening loss.
The game tonight will serve as the Lancers home opener while their campus turf field is being constructed.
